'ICE' Methodology
Ideate
1
In collaboration with product owners/stakeholders, gather user requirements and conduct heuristic & competitive analysis based on accessibility, aesthetic function and overall design.
-
Define the flow & scope by generating testable concepts that can be implemented quickly based on respective Scenario(s).
-
Designate order of importance by quickest/easiest/most valuable based on primary metrics being tested.
What's the 'why?'
Identify and explore the core elements & features that make up the overall user experience.
Outline the plans.
Create & design the artifacts, including information architecture & user flows that encapsulate the core concepts, known as Scenarios.
Create & Execute
2
Begin merging MVP(s), testing Scenarios based on individual or multiple requirements to generate feedback until ready to be deployed/handed off.
Play it forward.
Conduct user testing in order to find satisfying user flows, implementing interaction & visual design.
Complete + Repeat.
Review Backlog, generate new Scenario(s) as needed.
Repeat until all Scenarios have been completed & implemented.
Synopsis
Using a two-phase cycle, ICE aims to define the scope of the project's goals quickly and efficiently by integrating human-centered design principles with real-world business expectations to achieve altruistic & aesthetic interactions, and ultimately respecting the users by delivering consistently authentic experiences.
My design process takes a highly individualized approach, beginning with a series of broad-spectrum ideation sessions with respective stakeholders, generating artifacts to conceptualize and guide the process for designing the optimal user experience(s), such as personas, user flows, and journey mapping, up to full wireframing, prototyping, and exporting for deployment.
